消费主义不是「土著」的生活方式，而是「土猪」赎罪与「止痒」的方式——他们踩着由底层服务者的血肉之躯浇筑的「天梯」爬到了自身能够抵达的位置。为了消除道德上的不安，巩固来之不易的地位和缓解「死亡焦虑」只能不断掏钱买单。这也解释了为什么住在《桃色公寓》里的主角是擅长《双倍赔偿》的「保险」职员。不幸的是，这种「用爱发电」不具有可持续性的「慈善行为」既是「杀死」这个「免费项目」的罪魁祸首，亦是那些被资本家徒手构建起来的「乌托邦/理想国」等《公社》之所以「塌房」的原因。有趣的是，怀尔德对于《学生王子》善意的提醒与处罚较比「复旦大学」早和轻得多：不要为「嫖娼」这一针对女性群体的剥削行为买单，除非你承认自己有罪——事实上，他在《爱玛姑娘》脱衣前就以幽默而残酷的方式将隐于「伪人道主义遮羞布」下的「真相」揭晓。
但是如果电影本身仅仅是依靠特效和奇观来去撑起整个故事的话，在今天的语境里，无论是恐龙这个概念买点本身还是1993年商业电影的叙事结构和文本内核都变得非常无聊
